Zoo & Farm
Services
Based in Essex, we offer professional training and consultancy for a wide variety of zoo and farm species supporting animal care teams, keepers, and managers to foster confident, welfare-focused relationships with their animals. Our programmes are designed to improve daily handling, facilitate husbandry, and optimise enrichment routines for animals that may be nervous, independent, or unfamiliar with structured training.
Practical Skills for Confident Animals
Training is hands-on and practical, focusing on essential skills like safe handling, cooperative veterinary procedures, stress-free transport, and adapting animals to new enclosures and mixing environments. We also specialise in helping staff interpret body language, troubleshoot behaviour, and design species-appropriate routines using gentle, reward-based methods that encourage trust and reduce overstimulation.
Training and Support for Your Team
Beyond direct animal training, we support staff development with tailored workshops and ongoing coaching. This includes team education on training techniques, problem-solving, environmental enrichment strategies, and best practices for enclosure design and animal management. We're happy to advise and help set up enclosures, plan for new arrivals, and guide preparations for vet treatments or animal transfers, creating workable systems that benefit animals, keepers, and visitor safety.
Welfare-Focused Animal Shows
We're also happy to help you create engaging animal shows or demonstrations, working alongside your team to structure content, train cue-ready behaviours, and ensure animal welfare remains a priority during performances. We train and mentor your staff on maintaining those show routines.
Free, No Obligation Initial Assessment
We begin with a free meet and greet session, discussing your facility's needs, animal backgrounds, keeper experience levels, show production and/or practical goals for husbandry, veterinary care, or public interaction. If planning for new animals or trialling new activities, we're glad to arrange this meeting and the initial assessment beforehand, giving teams the tools for success from day one.
Every session and project is adapted to the unique needs of your animals and staff, ensuring training is collaborative, welfare-led, and confidence-building. Every programme is structured so keepers and animals progress safely and enjoyably together, step by step, with ongoing support for long-term success.
