Specialist Species
Training
Based in Essex, we offer professional training and support for a wide range of exotic animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, skunks, meerkats, any reptiles, and many others), helping owners build positive, trusting relationships based on each species' unique needs. Our programmes use gentle, reward-based methods proven to work for animals who may be nervous, independent, or have little experience with handling or training.
Tailored for Exotic Animals
Training covers basics like safe handling and settling calmly at home, along with practical skills for vet visits, enrichment, and public events or shows. Understanding that many exotic pets may feel anxious or overstimulated quicker, we use gradual desensitisation techniques to introduce new experiences, such as handling, travel, unfamiliar environments, or exposure to other pets, in a controlled, stress-free way.
Building Trust & Confidence
For exotic animals, sessions are focused to keep them comfortable and interested, with rewards tailored to each animal, such as favourite treats or environmental enrichment. We help you read your pet's body language, create suitable routines, and use positive reinforcement to encourage behaviours that support their wellbeing and your confidence. This approach allows exotics and their owners to build trust and enjoy more relaxed, enriching experiences together.
Free, No Obligation Initial Assessment
We begin with a free meet and greet session discussing your animal's temperament, background, and your personal goals. If you're preparing for a new animal, we're happy to arrange this meeting and even the initial assessment before your animal arrives, setting you up for success from the very start.
With every lesson, we adapt sessions to the unique needs of both keeper and exotic pet, ensuring that training is practical, kind, and confidence-building. Each program is tailored so you and your pet can learn together, safely and enjoyably, at every step.
